Rescue teams worked through the night to cut a motorist free from their car after it plunged over a cliff at Portland Bill.
Police, firefighters, coastguard, lifeboat and air ambulance crews were called to the scene at 11.15pm on Saturday night, following reports the vehicle had crashed onto rocks next to the obelisk at Portland Bill lighthouse.
One casualty was trapped inside, and rescuers had to battle against the incoming tide.
Wyke Coastguard CRT posted a picture on its Facebook page showing the car on its side, precariously balanced on rocks.
The casualty was cut from the wreckage and stretchered to safety using a chain technique, allowing immediate extraction over very difficult terrain.
They were then taken by ambulance to Dorset County hospital. The extent of their injuries isn't yet known.
The cause of the incident is being investigated.
