The manager of Southampton Football Club, Mauricio Pellegrino, has been sacked.
He was only appointed at the start of the season - but the club have won just one of their last seventeen matches.
Former Hull and Watford boss Marco Silva is the early replacement favourite.
Pellegrino, who used to play for Liverpool, had been under increasing pressure as the season went on, with fans reportedly angered by his defensive tactics and pundits accusing the players of not playing for him.
A statement by Southampton Football Club said: "We would like to place on record our thanks to Mauricio, Carlos and Xavier for their efforts during their time with Southampton, and wish them well for the future.
"The club will look to appoint a new management team as soon as possible, with the search for a replacement already under way."
