A senior ambulance officer from Surrey who taught paramedics at South East Coast Ambulance Service how to drive - without qualifications to do so - has appeared at Guildford Crown Court.
Simon Macartney, 46, of Addlestone, is charged with two counts of fraud which he denies.
He is accused of landing a job of Driving Standards Manager with SECAmb using a forged certificate. It's believed he pretended he was a former police traffic officer to get the job.
The court heard how suspicions were aroused by a colleague of Macartney's.
Malcolm Shaw sent this report.
