Wednesday morning's weather for the west

Dry and bright, but southeasterly winds strengthening to give windy conditions by afternoon, especially across the hills and along the coast. However, feeling pleasant enough in sunnier inland shelter. Maximum temperature 14 deg C (57 deg F).

Tonight: Dry with clear periods in the east at first, but cloud and outbreaks of rain gradually spreading east. Remaining windy especially over the hills and along the coast. Minimum temperature 6 deg C (43 deg F).

Thursday: Cloud and outbreaks of rain gradually clearing east through the morning. A brighter and drier afternoon, with just a few showers, mainly in the west. Winds easing. Maximum temperature 12 deg C (54 deg F).

Outlook for Friday to Sunday: Friday, sunny spells and some showers. Turning much colder Saturday and Sunday with snow showers accompanied by a strong and bitterly cold easterly wind.
