For a vulnerable person suffering a mental health crisis, there can be few places less suitable for recovery than a busy A&E department.
But until recently - hospitals or even police cells - were the only options available to patients, police and ambulance crews.
But in Southampton, a mental health Crisis Lounge has recently opened.
Run by Southern Health, it's already making a huge difference to people's lives- and easing the pressure on emergency services.
Rachel Hepworth spoke to Caroline, who has used the service very successfully, and Crisis Pathway Manager Natascha Eden.
The Crisis Lounge is based at Antelope House in Southampton and is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
