Man found dead in Fareham named by police

A man whose body was found at a property in Fareham has been named by police as Michael Deary.

The 29-year-old was discovered at his flat on Omaha Close by police after they received a concern for welfare call shortly before 1pm on Monday 20 August.

Police said he appeared to have injuries to his back.

A murder investigation is ongoing to establish what happened to Michael.

So far, police have received reports that he left his flat at some point between midday and 1pm on Friday 17 August. He was walking towards Redlands Lane with a man and a young woman, who he appeared to know.

Police are now wanting to hear from those two people and from anyone who may have seen Michael return home afterwards.

If you saw or spoke to Michael in the week before his death, the force also want to speak to you to establish who he may have had contact with.

Enquiries are continuing to be carried out at Omaha Close.

Anyone with any concerns are being asked speak to one of the uniformed officers who will be patrolling the area.
