It was a busy night for lifeboat crews in Poole on Thursday.

They were called by the UK Coastguard after reports of a jet ski, with two people on-board, that got stuck in thick mud near Rockley Park

The Poole Coastguard mud rescue team were picked up by lifeboat crews to help bring the two people to safety.

Following the rescue, the jet ski and casualties were taken back to Salterns marina. No one suffered any injuries

Crews were then called to a report of a 20ft yacht which ran aground, with one person on-board requiring assistance, in the Wareham Channel.

The yacht was safety towed back to shore. No one suffered from any injuries.

"This was a long night for the crews and Coastguards, with back to back jobs, it was a multi-agency effort and we were at sea for over 7 hours.

"Accidents happen and we will always be there to help, if you see anyone in difficulty or require assistance call 999 and ask for the Coastguard."
