A school in Worthing claims its children are in danger after they've been left without a traffic crossing guard.
The Broadwater Church of England Primary School is near the A24 and South Farm Road.
The council says a current recruitment freeze means it can't advertise the post, after the last lollipop lady retired.
In May, a teacher was involved in an accident outside the school.
More than four hundred pupils attend the school.
Parents say they've had to step in, rather than leave their children unguarded as they walk to the school gates.
The school have been asking people to volunteer their time to help them.
West Sussex County Council say they are working with the school to look at alternative patrol provision.
