A protest is being held in Southampton against proposals to close the last two care homes run by the city council.
The homes which mainly care for elderly people with dementia could fall victim to budget cuts. Staff are at risk of being made redundant and residents could be forced to move.
Ali Hedley's 73-year-old mother Gillian - who has dementia, was moved to Holcroft House in Thornhill two years ago.
A protest against the closures is being held by the unions Unite and Unison. Staff from the homes will be there alongside relatives of the residents.
If the closures go ahead residents will be moved to other homes in the private sector with the council helping to pay the bills.
The council is still consulting on the plans with a decision due to be made in February.
