Hamsters thrown from vehicle in Winchester

Two hamsters in a cage have been thrown out of a moving vehicle in Winchester.

It happened on Swan Lane last Tuesday (27 November)

Both hamsters survived, with one of the Roborovski hamsters suffering injuries to the nose and face.

The RSPCA received a call from a member of the public after they had heard a 'loud bang' outside their home.

The charity are investigating and are appealing for witnesses to the incident.

It's quite shocking that somebody would make a decision to dispose of hamsters in such a way. If they hadn't been found and rescued then they could have come to some significant peril."
