Pilot known to "take risks" claims prosecution at start of Shoreham crash trial

The prosecution at the start of a pilot's trial have claimed "purely pilot error" caused a vintage aircraft to crash onto the A27 during the Shoreham Airshow killing eleven men.

The jury heard Andrew Hill was flying too low when he lost control of the Hawker Hunter Jet in August 2015 and they were told although he is an experienced pilot, he had been known to "take risks."

He is facing eleven counts of manslaughter by gross negligence - charges he denies. Malcolm Shaw sent this report from the Old Bailey.
