A man has been jailed for eight years, and will serve a further five on licence, for stabbing a woman at a park in Oxfordshire.
18 year old Oliver Welsby attacked the victim, who is in her 50s, at Boxhill Park, near Abingdon, in July last year.
The attack, which happened in broad daylight whilst the woman was out walking her dog, has been described by Thames Valley Police as "horrific and completely unprovoked".
The court heard how the stabbing has left a lasting impact on the victim, with her feeling scared and anxious, whilst she struggles to sleep and suffers with panic attacks.
Sentencing Welsby, the judge described him as highly manipulative, someone who "put a community in terror" and continues to present a serious risk to the public.
