Detectives searching for a missing student from the University of Reading say that they have found an unidentified body in a lake on campus.

Daniel Williams, aged 19, was last seen at midnight on the morning of Thursday 31st January.

Thames Valley Police have been searching for him ever since, with house-to-house enquiries, countryside searches and checks of buildings.

Police described his disappearance as "out of character".

Although the body has not been formally identified, officers have told Daniel's family about the discovery.

“Tragically officers searching for Daniel have located a body. While the identity of the person who died is yet to be established, we have informed Daniel’s family and are providing support to them.
