Four men are due to appear in court charged in connection with a power cut at the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother hospital on Ramsgate Road in Margate.

It's A&E department was plunged into darkness on Wednesday evening. Patients had to be diverted to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford - others were urged not to attend the emergency unit.

The loss of power was blamed on damage to the electricity lines.

The power was restored around 11 o'clock that night.
