Dramatic video shows people at base of cliff fall

Environment Agency video captured the moment bystanders had a lucky escape after 1,000 tons of rock fell from cliff at West Bay in Dorset.

Rangers cordoned off the coast path between West Bay and Freshwater. The beach also remains closed.

Dorset County Council is warning of dangerous overhangs from the top of the cliff.

Emergency services were alerted to the incident at East Cliff West Bay on Tuesday 12 March.

Police officers were called along with Coastguard officers and both ambulance and fire crews.

A search dog and police helicopter were also mobilised to the scene.
