A pensioner has spoken of her horror after realising she'd been scammed by fraudsters pretending to be from the Tax Office.

Jane Ripley from Brighton was targeted by criminals over three consecutive days, causing her to empty her current account and to borrow thousands more from a friend.

Her story comes as HMRC - Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs - said it has received a staggering 60,000 reports of phone scams in the last six months.
