Young actors with autism take to the stage in Canterbury

  • WATCH: Andy Dickenson catches up with the theatre before their play

Young people with learning disabilities and autism are starred in a new play as part of an arts festival devoted to them.

The Square Pegs Theatre Company's first play was devised by the artists themselves, their stories spread over multiple scenarios.

I think it's really important not just for ourselves but the people who are going to watch this because for us it helps us understand ourselves a lot better but also helps other people who are going to come and watch this understand autism more."

– Bret, Actor

Their first show 'Head, Shoulders, Knees and Autism' was a sell out performance at Canterbury's Autism Arts Festival.
