Parents and councillors fight plans to turn failing school into Academy

Brighton and Hove City Council says it will fight Government plans to force a primary school to become an Academy - after it failed a recent inspection.

But, while Moulsecoomb Primary was branded 'inadequate' by Ofsted, parents have joined councillors to say cuts are partly to blame, and the school needs more time to turn things around. Andy Dickenson reports.

The Department for Education (DfE) says it's priority is the wellbeing, safeguarding and education of pupils and many sponsored academies dramatically improve their Ofsted results.
