Water supplies have been fully restored to Hayling Island in Hampshire after a burst water main caused major disruption.
Thousands of homes were left without water because of the leak on Havant road.
There was also gridlock on the roads in the area. Massive queues went on well into the evening with some commuters stuck in jams for over three hours. And five schools have been forced to close.
Portsmouth Water has apologised for the problem and has issued the above letter to residents. The CEO of the company says he will do his "upmost to prevent a recurrence."
