Police officer hospitalised following patrol car crash

A police officer has been taken to hospital after suffering serious injuries in a crash in Berkshire.

Two on duty officers had been travelling in their patrol car, along the A4, Bath Road, to the west of Reading, when the crash happened.

Emergency crews - including an air ambulance - were called to the scene at the junction of Haden Square and Bath Road at around 5.50pm yesterday (Sunday 7th July).

One of the officers suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital, where he remained overnight. He has since been discharged.

The other officer suffered minor injuries.

Thames Valley Police said that no other vehicle was involved in the crash and no-one else was injured.
