The Archdeacon of Berkshire has been named as the new Bishop of Reading.
The Venerable Olivia Graham will be consecrated in November as the first female bishop in the Diocese of Oxford.
She said she was delighted to take up the role.
Her appointment was announced on a visit to Ranelagh School in Bracknell, where pupils were given the chance to ask her questions.
The Bishop of Oxford said he was very excited about her appointment.
The new Bishop worked as an international aid worker, before she was ordained in 1997.
She's been working in the Diocese of Oxford ever since.
The Archdeacon is the 24th woman to appointed as a bishop since the Church of England general synod first allowed women to become bishops in 2014.
