Archaeologists have been digging up part of a park in Eastbourne. The site at Motcombe Gardens is home to a Dovecote dating back hundreds of years - a building where pigeons were once kept. Tom Savvides has the details
Anything of interest found, is cleaned and documented in a bid to pinpoint how old it is and what it was used for. Heritage Manager Jonathan Seaman says they need to dig deep.
Once the dig is over, the area will be landscaped and anything significant will be left exposed so we can have a window onto the past.
