Legal hemp farm must destroy £200,000 crop after losing licence

An Oxfordshire hemp farm has been forced to destroy £200,000 worth of crops after it lost its licence to grow it.

Hempen, which is based in Goring Heath, has been growing hemp - a strain of the cannabis plant - since 2016.

Last year, the Home Office said UK farmers could not harvest hemp flowers but could continue to grow seed and stalk. However, the company has now been told it must cease production on the farm entirely.
