Two men have been arrested after the suspicious death of a woman in Gosport, Hampshire.

The body of the woman in her twenties was found by firefighters who were dealing with a fire at a house in Grange Crescent.

Hampshire Fire & Rescue Service attended the fire and called the police to the scene at 8.52am. The two organisations are carrying out an investigation into the circumstances of the woman's death.

Although a formal identification of the woman has not yet taken place, her next of kin have been told that a body has been found. They are being supported by specialist officers.

A 26-year-old man who does not have a permanent address and a 28-year-old man from Gosport have been arrested on suspicion of murder. The two men remain in police custody.
