Pheasant controversy as shooting season begins

Animal rights activists who raided a pheasant farm in Kent say they did it to liberate the birds. They were being bred by the thousand, for hunting. But the farmer has accused them of killing hundreds of chicks.

The raid, near Ashford, was followed by a second, near Robertsbridge in Sussex. Bird farmers say they fear it's the start of a campaign as the shooting season gets underway.
