Four arrested after fatal stabbing in High Street

Police have cordoned off the High Street in Maidstone

Police have launched a murder investigation after a twenty-one-year-old man died from stab wounds following what has been described as a 'disturbance' involving several people in Maidstone High Street.

Officers were called to the scene at 3 o'clock this morning. The 21-year-old man was declared dead at the scene. Four other men were also injured, three of them were taken to a hospital in London, the third was taken to a local hospital.

Four men from London have been arrested on suspicion of murder. Officers from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate said that four men remain in custody - two aged 21 along with a 23-year-old and a 19-year-old.

The road has remained shut for much of the day

The High Street in Maidstone has been closed while officers continue with their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
