Autumn is now upon us so time for a look back at the stats for August...

August 2019 saw mean temperatures 0.9 degrees Celsius above average. The highest minimum temperature of the month was recorded at St Catherine's Point on the Isle of Wight on the morning of 25th, only dropping to 19.7 degrees Celsius.

Rainfall totals have also come in above average. In fact we've had 153% of what we'd usually expect at in August.

We've also had above average amounts of sunshine with 107% of what we'd usually expect in August. East Malling in Kent takes the top spot for the sunniest day in the UK this August, recording an impressive 13.6 hours of sunshine on the 22nd.
