Why is lawn bowls struggling to attract players?

It was once a thriving leisure sport - traditionally enjoyed by more mature sportsmen and women. But it seems that in some parts of our region lawn bowls is now struggling to attract enough players.

According to Bowls England there are 10 per cent fewer club members in the UK than there were just five years ago. Declining numbers meant that Christchurch Bowling club had to close five years ago, and now one of the town's two remaining clubs fears it's already played its last competitive league match. Richard Slee reports.
