The Sussex foodbank giving away theatre tickets to disadvantaged families this Christmas

For many, catching a pantomime this Christmas will be a tradition long marked in the family calendar but for some, the cost of presents already an impossibility - visiting the theatre is a far off dream.

As the use of foodbanks soars, the poorest families in our region will be turning to charity in the hope of a Christmas meal - but one musical in Sussex is hoping to give that little bit more.

The all-female charity theatre company Underwired are giving out the tickets through the foodbanks in Eastbourne and Hastings - helping to bring cheer to children who are missing out.

The home-grown musical - Lost Toys' Big Christmas Adventure - is about lost toys trying to find their way to children. Those wanting to use the foodbank need to be referred by the citizens advice bureau, doctors or schools.
