Watch Andy Dickenson's report:
Former boy band star Duncan James is in Hastings this festive season to revive his role as Aladdin.
It is the sixth year the former Blue singer has taken to the stage in pantomime.
The cast are working to a gruelling schedule at the White Rock Theatre, performing two shows every day until December 29.
It's a gruelling schedule so it's hard work but I think the fact that everyone's together away from their families and loved ones at Christmas, it gives everyone that new panto family which is really nice. That's what panto is all about, having fun and the audience having fun as well."
This year marks the seventh season out of the last eight in Sussex for Duncan's co-star Ben Watson.
You always have a specific set of characters so you have the comic, you have the dame, you have the good fairy, the bad fairy, the good and evil. It's a fairytale brought to life for children and for families to enjoy. It's brilliant. I'm very proud to do panto, it's a real privilege to do it."
