It has emerged that a mother and daughter from Basingstoke are among the dozens of victims badly injured following a volcanic eruption in New Zealand.
Eighteen people were killed in the blast on White Island on December 9.
Liz McGill, 67, and her daughter Heather, 34, were on holiday at the time.
The pair are being treated for severe burns in separate hospitals in New Zealand and are expected to remain there for some time.
Two people are still missing following the eruption.
Authorities have said that those injured are lucky to be alive.
