The South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) has launched a recruitment drive in a bid to fill dozens of roles.

There is a major shortage of paramedics nationwide - but the ambulance service which provides emergency care for Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire and Oxfordshire also needs call handlers and support staff.

The recruitment day was held at Bicester in Oxfordshire

As well as vacancies for clinical and non-clinical roles at the Trust's headquarters in Bicester. SCAS is recruiting for other jobs available at ambulance stations across Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire, Surrey and Sussex.

"SCAS has one of the best performing emergency ambulance services in the country, as well as providing one of the best NHS 111 services for people needing urgent medical advice.

''The Trust is also the biggest NHS provider of non-emergency patient transport services in England, providing these services not just in our South Central heartland but also in Surrey and Sussex.

''Demand for our services continues to grow which means we can offer not just a job, but a rewarding and satisfying career with plenty of opportunities for personal and professional development."
