A giant banner displaying the words 'We still love EU' has been unveiled on the White Cliffs of Dover.
South East England MEP Antony Hook crowdfunded for the 150 square metre banner in less than 24 hours.
The target of £5,500 has been exceeded, with more than £14,000 being raised to date.
Dover MP, Natalie Elphicke, has suggested a banner displaying the words 'We love the UK' instead.
We want to send out a really clear positive message that people in Britain feel huge friendship and affection to people in Europe, even though Brexit is happening against the wish of perhaps half of the country. It's a very painful thing for many people and in the year ahead we want to fight for Britain and Europe to have the closest possible partnership and friendship."
