• Watch: CCTV footage of attack

Shocking CCTV has been released of the moment a couple from Hampshire were attacked by a group of masked men outside their home.

Giles Waite and his wife Eli had pulled up on their drive in Hordle last month (27th Feb) when they were set upon.

The footage shows Eli being thrown to the floor and punched, while Giles is assaulted out of view.

Both their watches and other personal items were taken before the four men fled the scene.

Eli received hospital treatment for a suspected broken jaw.

The couple have been recovering from their injuries, and have now posted the footage on social media, hoping the public can help in finding the culprits.

Giles says: "The thing that upsets me the most about this is what they did to my wife, and obviously with this out on social media and the reaction we've had, people are disgusted."

Eli says: "This was a big shock for me. The first thing I saw was a guy running against Giles and then I was on the floor and I was very scared and I was thinking he was going to kill me. I didn't know what was going to happen next."

Hampshire Police says following the attack, the men left in a vehicle described as a Honda Civic with the vehicle registration CE08 UAA or similar.

Officers conducted a search of the area at the time, and a team of detectives are continuing the investigation today (4th March).

We will be in the area today carrying out a number of enquiries. We really want to hear from anyone who was in the Stopples Lane area last night who saw a vehicle matching this description, or drivers who may have dash cam footage of this car. Anyone with information is asked to call 101 and quote 44200075102.”
