He went into the Brook in Cookham on Tuesday after his friend got into trouble while swimming.

He was a Syrian refugee and a father of five.

His family are being supported by officers, and have described him as a 'wonderful father'.

Emergency services were called to Lulle Brook between Odney Lane and Mill Lane in Cookham near Maidenhead at 7pm on Tuesday, with searches continuing late into the night.

Another Syrian man, who's 35, was rescued and is in a serious condition in hospital.

A third man entered the water to assist, but left the water unharmed.

Officers have been working tirelessly with our partners to locate the man who entered the water yesterday, and have now tragically found a body.
