Increased police search powers after teen stabbed in back three times

Thames Valley Police has put in place a Section 60 Order in Oxford, following an incident of grievous bodily harm yesterday morning.

The incident took place between 2.30am and 5.30am in the area around Foresters Tower in Wood Farm.

The victim, a 16-year-old boy, was in the area with two of his friends when he was stabbed in the back by a group of three males. The suspects then left the area, but police do not know which direction they went in.

The victim sustained three stab wounds which required hospital treatment. He has since been discharged. Two of the males were white and of slim build, dressed in black clothing. The other offender was black and of medium build.

No arrests have yet been made in connection with the investigation.

As a result of the incident, Thames Valley Police put in place a Section 60 Order, which will allow officers increased powers to stop people and search them.

The order will last until 15:50 today.
