Public warned to remain vigilant after two victims strangled during robberies

People in Southampton are being warned to remain vigilant after a series of incidents where the victim was strangled before being robbed.

Police received four reports of robberies taking place along Cemetery Road between 28 August and 10 October.

On three occasions, keys and/or cash were stolen.

On two occasions it was reported that a man strangled the victim rendering them unconscious before stealing their belongings.

Hampshire Police say they do not want to alarm the public, but they do want people to remain vigilant.

There will be an increased police presence as officers patrol the area.
