A body has been recovered by coastguards, searching for the crew of three from a fishing boat off the Dorset coast. Hopes are fading to finding the two other crew members.

Dead fisherman named by police

Dorset Police have confirmed the name of a dead fisherman found off the coast of Portland. The body of 35-year-old skipper David McFarlane was recovered by coastguards yesterday. The two remaining crew members of the Purbeck Isle are still missing, although the wreck of the boat has been found.

Messages of support for missing fishermen

Message of support for the families of three missing fishermen are being left on social media websites. The crew of the Purbeck Isle have not bee seen or heard of since they left Weymouth on Thursday. One body has been recovered by the coastguard as the search continues.

Concern grows for missing men

The search for the Weymouth trawler Purbeck Isle has restarted after the coastguard was forced to call off the search at 3am this morning.

It's understood that two RNLI craft from Weymouth and Lyme Regis have joined the search which restarted at 5am.

There has still been no contact from the vessel which was reported missing from Weymouth yesterday evening.
