One day old kittens were left for dead in a Dorset car park before they were rescued by the RSPCA.
Four black and white kittens were found extremely cold and fighting for their lives at 8.15am yesterday at Throop Mill car park in a cream fabric drawer that would be used as bedroom furniture.
Unfortunately, one of the kittens died in the cold but the other three kittens are now being hand-reared round the clock by the RSPCA to give them the best chance of survival.
The drawer also contained a blood stained duvet case and a pattern size George at Asda top.
RSPCA Inspector Patrick Bailey said: “Abandoning such tiny animals is totally unacceptable. Had they not been found they would certainly have died. The mother cat is likely to be very distressed at the moment as she is not being allowed to nurse her kittens."
