Damages for so-called "sexting" have been awarded for the first time, in a case involving the ex-vice-principal of Diana, Princess of Wales's former school near Sevenoaks in Kent.

Landmark ruling in 'sexting' case

In a landmark ruling the vice principal of a private school in Kent has been sued for receiving indecent photos in text messages from a pupil.

Children's charities are tonight warning that 'sextexts' are becoming a worrying phenomenon in our schools. This is the first time damages have been awarded in such a case.

The victim, who was 16, said she saw the teacher who was 57 at the time as a 'father figure'. Andy Dickenson reports and speaks to Anastasia de Waal, Chair of Family Lives, and lawyer David McClenaghan.
