The M3 Southbound has fully reopened after a crash involving six cars this afternoon.

Five people were injured in the accident between J8 (Andover) and J9. According to police none were seriously hurt but they were all taken to hospital.

The fire service had to cut out one person who was trapped following the collision

There are already long delays on the M3

The M3 in Hampshire is currently closed southbound following a serious accident between six vehicles.

The motorway is closed between J8 (Andover) and J9, while police and other emergency services attend the scene.

At least 3 people are believed to be injured, but there is no confirmation on how badly.

Drivers are being diverted on to the A303 and are advised to leave plenty of extra time to travel if heading that way.

The road is likely to remain closed for a number of hours.
