Car going down the #M40 the wrong way in the outside lane just passed us and left at least 8 collisions behind him
An eyewitness has told ITV Meridian that he froze when faced with a man driving his car at speed the wrong way down the M40.
This morning travelling down the M40 I had to make that choice!
Travelling at speed in the middle lane I was confronted coming around the bend by what looked like a green jag travelling head-on at well over 100mph.
I had a second to choose do I go left or do I go right, I froze and he went right, thank God I froze!
I was then faced with carnage of the M40, cars all over the place, big smash up to say High Wycombe. I hope the Police get him!
Eyewitnesses have told ITV Meridian that a man driving a Mazda drove the wrong way down the M40 between Junction 5 (Stokenchurch) and Junction 4 (Wycombe) this morning.
Delays and road blocked due to accident at Minster Lovell. One car involved and overturned vehicle on A40 Eastbound between B4047 Burford Road and A415 Ducklington Lane (Witney town centre / Ducklington turn off).
A woman from Eastbourne in Sussex has been flown to the Royal London Hospital to be treated for serious head injuries after falling from her horse. It happened at Under Road in Magham Down on the A271 in Hailsham just before 6pm on Monday.
The emergency services were called after reports that a horse rider on a rural lane, had lost control when her horse become startled and started galloping at speed.
"This is a very unfortunate incident and our thoughts are with the injured woman, who remains in a critical condition in hospital.
"It is still not clear why the horse became startled and we are appealing to anyone who saw the rider and horse in the area prior to the incident to please call 101 quoting Op Banton."
A young man has died in a kayaking acident. The 28 year old fell out of his kayak on the River Rother near Petworth in Sussex. His friend raised the alarm. The death is being treated as accidental and the coroner has been informed.
A 41-year-old cyclist who was seriously injured in a collision in Bexhill this morning has died in hospital. He was involved in a collision with a lorry while travelling along the A259 De La Warr Road at a round 7am this morning.
Sussex Police say a 60-year-old man who is from Leeds has been arrested in Eastbourne on suspicion of failing to stop and he remains in custody.
The A259 was closed in both directions until around 11am while police investigated the incident.

Police have reopened De La Warr Road in Bexhill after an accident between a lorry and a cyclist.
The accident happened just after 7 o'clock this morning. The seriously injured cyclist was airlifted to hospital in London.
The lorry did not stop at the scene but was stopped a short time later in Eastbourne. A 60-year-old man from Leeds has been arrested on suspicion of failing to stop and is in custody. Officers are appealing for witnesses to the collision.
