Man wanted in connection with murder in Cornwall

Police investigating the murder of a man from Cornwall need the public's help in locating a suspect who is thought to be in the Thames Valley area.

Officers from the Devon and Cornwall Police are urgently seeking to find Kevin Cooper, who is wanted in connection with the death of David Alderson.

Mr Alderson was found dead on 18th January within the grounds of the mine works at Wheal Maid in Cornwall.

Mr Cooper is described as white, 6ft 3ins with brown, straight, receding hair and blue eyes.

He has a tattoo of a rose and the word "Nan" on the right side of his neck and has two upper teeth missing.

Members of the public are advised not to approach him but to call 999.

Police statement on Cornwall speedboat tragedy

Devon and Cornwall police have given an update on the investigation into Sunday's speedboat crash in Padstow, Cornwall.

Earlier, it was confirmed that BSkyB executive Nick Milligan had been killed along with his eight-year-old daughter.

Detective Superintendent Jim Colwell said that a 39-year-old woman and her four-year-old son suffered "serious, potentially life changing injuries".

A 12-year-old and 10-year-old girl suffered minor injuries in the accident.

Police: Boat 'kill cord' will be focus of investigation

Police have said that the presence of a "kill cord" safety device will form a "key focus" of the investigation into a boat accident in which two people died in Padstow, Cornwall.

The cord's purpose is to ensure that a boat's engine is cut if the person in control goes overboard.

Det Supt Jim Colwell from Devon and Cornwall Police told reporters:

"Clearly the reasons why the boat didn't stop when it otherwise should have done, when there was nobody left on it, is a key part of our investigation.

"The kill cord - the presence of, the state of, and how it was attached or otherwise - will be a key focus of our investigation."

Sky say Nicholas was "a great friend and colleague"

Sky have released a statement after it was announced that Nicholas Milligan, an employee at BSkyB died in a speedboat accident in Padstow.

Everyone at Sky is deeply shocked and saddened to learn of the tragic accident involving the Milligan family.

"Nick has been a great friend and colleague for many years and his loss will be felt across our company and the industry. Our very deepest sympathies are with his family at this time."
