'Lucky to be alive' - the pensioner who had Legionnaires disease

A pensioner from Kent who nearly died from Legionnaires disease has returned home after 7 weeks in hospital.

Peter Apps from Sittingbourne was put into an induced coma as he fought for his life in the intensive care unit at Medway Maritime Hospital. The hotel he stayed in before becoming critically ill is being tested for signs of the legionella bacteria.

Dream holiday turns into a nightmare for one Hampshire woman

A woman from Hampshire, who lost her legs and one hand after contracting Legionnaire's Disease while on holiday has been speaking to ITV Meridian about her ordeal. It's thought Alethea Parker from Farnborough inhaled the deadly bacteria while having a shower in Tuscany.
