Mad Hatter's tea party a hit

The Mad Hatter in Lewis Carroll's Alison in Wonderland loved to hold a tea party - and maybe he was on to something. An organisation in Portsmouth has been holding them for 12 years, for children with serious illnesses or disabilities.

Martin Dowse - along with our very own Mad Hatter - has been to join in. He spoke to organiser Malcolm Drew and Rob Martin.

Ashleigh & Pudsey wow at 'Mad Hatters' tea party

This year's 'Mad Hatters' tea party has been hailed the best yet. The annual event is a fun day out for children with long-term illness.

About three hundred people were entertained by popular children's cartoon characters ... along with last year's winners of Britain's Got Talent - Ashleigh and her dog Pudsey, ...and Meridian's very own Fred Dinenage.

The interviewees in the report by Richard Slee are Margaret Lilley, the mother of Rhian; and Gemma Scotney, the mother of Willow.
