Water supplies are returning to customers in East Sussex after a burst main overnight.
Technicians have been working throughout the day to restore the burst water main although some areas may still be affected.
South East Water is working to repair a serious burst on a large water main in South Chailey which has caused supplies to be affected in Barcombe, Ditchling, Plumpton, Keymer, Hassocks and Chailey.
South East Water is currently dealing with a burst water main affecting many areas in East Sussex.
Bottled water is available for those affected at the following locations:
- Barcombe Village Hall, Barcombe Mills Road, BN8 5BH
- Hassocks Parish Hall, BN6 8QH
Bottled water has also been delivered to vulnerable customers who have already registered with South East Water.
Around 3,600 homes in East Sussex have been left without water after a burst water main last night.
Some schools in Plumpton and Ditchling have been forced to close, although some supplies are now being restored.
South East Water have been handing out hundreds of bottles of water in villages around Lewes while they carry out repairs.
The incident happened just before midnight.
