Bones could be John the Baptist's

He's one of the most important figures in Christianity - the man who baptised Christ, and famously lost his head on the orders of King Herod - but could scientists have identified the bones of John the Baptist?

Six small bones, including a knuckle, were discovered during excavations on a remote island in the Black Sea, called Sveti Ivan, off the coast of Bulgaria. They were in a sarcophagus believed to be John the Baptist's.

A team from Oxford University have now confirmed the remains are from the first century AD - and belong to the one man.

The team was led by Thomas Higham and Fred caught up with hime earlier.
