Shopping centre fire confirmed as arson

A fire in the shopping centre at Ringwood in Hampshire has been confirmed as arson.

Investigations are continuing this morning into the blaze which engulfed six shops in Ringwood, Hampshire.

The fire started in a bin behind shops in Meeting House Lane. Fifty firefighters were called out to tackle the flames.

We can confirm that we are investigating a fire that took place at the shopping centre in Meeting House Lane, Ringwood, just before 8am on Sunday, November 27.

Following an assessment by colleagues at Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service, we are treating the fire as arson.

Fire crews are at the scene of a huge fire in Ringwood Town Centre - six shops were affected.

Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service say the fire is now out and no-one was injured.

The fire spread from a bin at the back of the shops and spread into roof space of some units. Around 50 firefighters were called out.
