Cyclist killed after woman fiddled with sat nav

A mother who knocked down and killed a cyclist while fiddling with the sat nav system in her car has been convicted of causing death by dangerous driving. Victoria McClure only spotted 46-year-old Anthony Hilson when she looked up at the last moment and crashed into him.

Reading Crown Court heard that McClure, of Charvil, "drove blind" for almost 20 seconds before the collision. She denied causing death by dangerous driving - but the prosecution rejected her guilty plea to causing death by careless driving.

The collision happened on the A4 near Twyford near Reading on September 16 last year.
