The first new timbers are being laid on Hastings Pier as the multi-million pound renovation gathers momentum. It has already received a massive £11m boost from a heritage lottery grant.
The charity supervising the project is aiming raise another £500,000 via community shares priced between £100 and £20,000. Half that target has already been reached.
